Russell Brand in car crash

Comedian Russell Brand has been injured in a car accident after his car was in a collision with a lorry in New York.

The star's £150,000 Lamborghini Superleg-gera was hit from behind by a lorry causing £6,000 worth of damage.

Although the 35-year-old suffered only minor injuries in the accident, witnesses said Brand was trapped in the car following the accident and had struggled to get out.

The road accident occurred when the star was on his way home from the set of his new film Arthur.

The celebrity's mum flew out to New York from London to be with her son while fiancée Katy Perry is performing at the MTV World Stage Love event in Malaysia.

Full details surrounding the crash have yet to be reported. If the driver of the lorry is found to be liable for the car accident, Brand could be eligible to make a personal injury compensation claim.
