Boy hurt in road traffic accident with tram may seek compensation

Fire officers used specialist lifting equipment to release a seven-year-old boy who was trapped under a tram in a road traffic accident in Addington, Croydon.

The boy suffered serious leg injuries in the collision with the tram which happened at about 8am at a tram stop.

He was taken to St George's Hospital, Tooting, where his injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.

Tramlink services in the area were suspended while investigations were carried out by its managers and British Transport Police, a spokesman for which said the incident appeared to have been an accident.

Once the question of liability has been resolved, the parents of the boy may consider consulting a no win no fee solicitor about making a compensation claim on his behalf.
