Malaysian coach crash ends in personal injury claim
A Cheshire couple are making a personal injury claim for accident compensation after they were badly hurt in an Asian coach crash.
The man and woman, from Stanney Oaks in Ellesmere Port, were journeying between Malaysia and Singapore in May 2006 when heavy rain caused their coach to career off the road and crash down a ravine.
The couple were among 13 tourists travelling on the vehicle when the road accident occurred and they were hospitalised with serious personal injuries.
Now recovered from their wounds and back in the UK, the 36-year-old man and 40-year-old woman have launched an accident claim against the tour company operating the coach trip. They insist the bus driver was driving dangerously and that he failed to concentrate properly on the road ahead.
According to the Liverpool Daily Post, a personal injury solicitor commented on the couple's holiday accident compensation claim and said, "If they were on a package holiday they may well be able to sue their UK based tour operator in the English courts and have their damages assessed in accordance with English law."
