Accountant seeks compensation for 4WD smash

A Manchester man who suffered a whiplash injury after being involved in a collision with a four-wheel drive vehicle on a Coventry A-road has filed a compensation claim.

A letter from the 34-year-old's personal injury lawyer states that the man is seeking damages for "pain, injury and lost earnings". It also states that the accountant was unable to return to work for nearly two months following the July 2007 road accident because of "chronic pain and discomfort".

If his whiplash injury claim is successful, the Manchester native's personal injury lawyer believes that his client should receive around £4,700 in compensation.

Although the driver of the four-wheel drive was not available for comment on the whiplash injury claim, he has already been fined £240 and received a three point penalty for his part in the accident, during which he pulled out of an intersection without first checking for any approaching traffic.
