Rider in collision claim
A motorcyclist who was left needing the use of a wheelchair for two months following a road traffic accident is seeking 100 percent compensation from the driver he says was responsible for the crash.
No-win, no-fee lawyers acting on behalf of the rider have lodged a 100 percent compensation claim with London's High Court in the hope of securing a payout from the driver's insurance company.
The 34-year-old claimant needed metal plates inserted into his feet following a collision involving his Suzuki motorbike and the defendant's Ford Mondeo.
The Mondeo driver has already received a careless driving conviction in relation to the incident and is now facing the civil claim action.
The motorbike accident claim writ alleges that the defendant "negligently failed to check his mirrors before starting to turn right, failed to signal, failed to see the motorcycle, failed to keep a proper lookout, failed to maintain full and continuous concentration and failed to avoid the collision".
100 percent compensation is being sought for the man's previous and ongoing injuries, which include "limited mobility, pain on movement, psychological distress and restricted joint movements."
