Norfolk ambulance crash compensation for biker's family
The family of a motorcyclist, who died in a road traffic accident, could be eligible to receive ambulance crash compensation for their suffering and loss.
The victim, a man whose age has not yet been reported, was riding his motorbike on the A146 near Loddon in Norfolk when the fatal incident occurred.
An ambulance, which was on route to an emergency callout at the time, collided with the biker and, although the medical crew aboard the emergency vehicle escaped with only minor injuries, the rider was pronounced dead at the scene.
A spokesperson for the East of England Ambulance Service stated that it is "working with Norfolk police and an internal investigation has been launched immediately. As such, no further comment can be made."
Any witnesses of the crash have been asked by Norfolk police to come forward and give information which could help determine the events leading up to the accident and who is liable for the fatality.
The family of the deceased man, who could well have been dependant on his salary, may decide to make an ambulance crash compensation claim should police find that the ambulance driver was responsible for the accident.
