Fatal accidents at work double in past twelve months
Recent figures have shown that the number of people killed in accident at works in Gloucestershire has doubled over the past year.
A number of people throughout the United Kingdom are involved in near fatal accidents and a number of campaigns have been launched to highlight the risk of workplace injuries, including the European Week for Safety and Health at Work.
The new findings from the Health and Safety Executive revealed that the number of people killed as a result of serious injuries in Gloucestershire accidents at work has doubled in just twelve months.
In 2005/2006 a total of six people were killed at work compared to three people the year before.
Fortunately, the number of serious personal injuries suffered in accidents at work across the county has dropped from 291 to 288.
