A recent worker compensation claim

We help thousands of people each year make worker compensation claims after suffering an injury that was not their fault whilst at work. Below is a recent personal injury claim that was settled in favour of our customer for £5,500.

A successful worker compensation claim
In June 2003, our customer was a refuse collector and was moving a wheelie bin when a refuse lorry reversed into her path. The tailgate of the lorry trapped her between a skip and her wheelie bin, causing her shoulder and leg injuries.

She decided to make a claim for worker compensation, and contacted us. We sent a Letter of Claim to her employer in October 2004 to inform them that a personal injury claim was being made.

Her employer acknowledged receipt of the letter and made an offer of £1,500 in an attempt to dispose of the matter quickly and without admitting liability. As our customer was still suffering from problems in her shoulder and right leg, we advised her to reject the offer, which she did. Soon after, her employer admitted that they were at fault.

Medical evidence was sent to her employer in April 2005 to support her compensation claim.

After negotiations, the sum of £5,500 was agreed two weeks later in full and final settlement of her worker compensation claim.
