A recent industrial accident claim
The Claimant - male, aged 38, employed as a lorry driver, instructed The Claim Solicitors in September 2002 , to help him make an industrial accident claim.

In July 2002 the Claimant was working as a lorry driver and had just filled his lorry up with diesel from a pump in the diesel room. As he turned to come down the steps he slipped on what was later found to be spilt diesel and engine oil. He had not been provided with safety footwear. He sustained a gash to the upper right arm and bruising to the ribcage, middle back and right ankle.

A no win, no fee agreement was entered into and the letter of claim was sent in November 2002. Medical report from a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon and a Consultant Plastic Surgeon were commissioned. Liability was admitted by letter dated 10th February 2003.

The industrial accident claim was delayed whilst medical evidence was gathered and an MRI scan obtained (September 2004). The Orthopaedic Consultant was asked to clarify the position on acceleration of pre-existing degenerative changes and an addendum report on the MRI scan was received in February 2005.

The Defendant made an offer to settle in March 2005 in the global sum of £3,000 (including £500 for the financial loss). This offer was accepted by the Claimant, in full and final settlement of his industrial accident claim.
