Whiplash Dizziness
Dizziness and auditory disturbance with sensitivity to noise and feeling of disequilibrium have been described in many studies of patients suffering from whiplash. Sometimes referred to as post-traumatic vertigo these symptoms usually follow a neck or head injury. See below for more information on the many different causes and symptoms.
Positional vertigo Symptoms often occur after a head injury, one of the most extreme forms of dizziness.
Post-traumatic Meniere's syndrome Usually accompanied by noises in the ear due to bleeding into the inner ear.
Cervical vertigo Caused by severe neck injury and vascular compression.
Temporal bone fracture Most often accompanied by dizziness and Bell's Palsy.
Perilymph fistula Imbalance and dizziness often caused by blowing the nose.
Psychogenic vertigo Sometimes experienced along with PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder)
Epileptic vertigo Caused by damage to the temporal lobe after a head or brain injury.
Diffuse axonal injury Can cause dizziness as a result of brain stem injury.
Postconcussion syndrome Dizziness, headaches and mental disturbances following a head injury.
Whiplash injury syndrome. Soft tissue injury caused by sudden flexing of the neck.
