Asbestos claim at work- event organised to highlight dangers

Amicus, Britain's largest private sector union, is hosting an event on the dangers of asbestos. The event called 'Find out the Truth' will be held on the 21st of April at the World of Glass, Chalon Way St Helens. The evening commences at 7.00 pm, and will be chaired by Kevin Coyne, Amicus's Regional Secretary:

"In the UK, 3,000 people a year die from asbestos related diseases and it is predicted that by the year 2020, 10,000 people per year will be dying from these illnesses. It is vital that the union continues its campaign, for employers to implement effectively the latest legislation on asbestos at work, whilst supporting the NHS research into Mesothelioma".

The evening's special guest speakers will be Ian McFall of Thompson's solicitors and Dr. John Williams. Ian is a leading UK lawyer in asbestos and consultant, Dr John Williams specialises in occupational chest disease.
