Personal injury news- Richard Hammond shows signs of improvement after car crash
Popular TV presenter Richard Hammond remains in hospital today after being involved in high-speed car crash whilst filming for Top Gear.
It has been reported that the 36-year-old was attempting to break the British Land Speed Record at the Royal Air Force base in Elvington near York when the car accident happened on Wednesday.
Hammond had been driving a jet-powered car capable of reaching speeds of up to 300 miles-per-hour and lost control of the vehicle on the last attempt at breaking the record.
The father of two managed to talk a little as he was being cut free from the vehicle and was airlifted to Leeds General Infirmary with serious personal injuries.
Hammond, nicknamed 'The Hamster', is reported to be in a stable but serious condition following the car crash and doctors have confirmed that he has shown signs of improvement overnight.
His family has been at his bedside since being informed of the road accident.
