Personal injury news - Footballer receives personal injury compensation
Guinea footballer Ousmane Bangoura has been told that he will receive $163,200 in personal injury compensation.
Bangoura's eyeball was ruptured as he played in a league match on 7th July. He was trying to head the ball when an opponent tried to kick the ball away.
The mid-fielder was caught in the eye by the opponent's studs and suffered a serious eye injury.
Following the injury claim, Shenyang agreed to pay the footballer his salary for the rest of the year worth $150,000.
Bangoura was also paid in insurance for the sum of $12,550 and received over $100,000 in donations from Chinese league managers and players.
The personal injury compensation will provide a great financial relief for the footballer who at the moment can only sense light with his injured eye.
