Manchester solicitors bring new hope for
compensation claimants
Personal injury solicitors, Rowe Cohen, have achieved a welcome result after challenging the ruling that anyone pursuing personal injury compensation must do so within three years of their accident.
The personal injury specialists were representing Anthony Horton who was involved in a road accident back in 1998. The original proceedings of Horton's personal injury case were terminated on a technicality and his attempt to re-establish them was dismissed by the Court of Appeal.
Horton undertook the legal assistance of Rowe Cohen to allow him the opportunity to make his compensation claim, despite the three year rule which has been in place since 1979.
Partner Simon Cohen commented on their success, saying, 'After the three-year limitation period had expired, certain personal injury victims had no grounds to pursue their original claims, regardless of their merits.
'It was absurd and we took our case to the House of Lords with the intention of changing that ruling. We are ecstatic at the outcome.'
