Kaiser Chief Ricky Wilson could make a car accident claim

The lead singer of the Kaiser Chiefs Ricky Wilson is said to be lucky to be alive after he was hit by a car in his home town of Leeds on Sunday night. Wilson was crossing a road at a pedestrian crossing, the pedestrian light was green but the car failed to stop and ploughed into the star.

Wilson now has a potential car accident claim against the driver of the car who did not stop in time to avoid the accident. The driver failed to stop after the accident so claiming compensation could mean involving the Motor Insurer's Bureau, the independent body set up to compensate victims of uninsured or untraced drivers.

Wilson was lucky because he managed to leap up avoiding catastrophe. Jumping out of the way of the car may have saved his life as he was thrown on to the windscreen of the car rather than pulled underneath, which could have resulted in serious personal injuries.

A statement on the Kaiser Chiefs website had this to say about the accident "Whether it was a joyrider, reckless driving or drunk driving we still don't know. Police are investigating - we'd like to thank the witnesses that have come forward so far"

Wilson was incredibly lucky as he survived the accident with only minor injuries including a broken toe. Making a car accident claim against an untraceable driver can be complicated but if Wilson decides that he wants to seek justice for his injuries and the trauma caused then it may be possible.
