Father finally laid to rest after fatal industrial accident
A man killed in an industrial injury accident was finally laid to rest by his family after
waiting nearly ten months.
Christopher Meachen, 28, died from serious personal injuries in a work accident after becoming trapped in heavy machinery at Minimix Concrete on the Longwater
industrial estate on 7th November 2005.
His body was finally released to relatives after issues linked to potential
prosecutions had been resolved.
Detectives from Norwich CID had carried out an investigation into the industrial
accident with the Health and Safety Executive to discover if a criminal offence or
breach of health and safety regulations had occurred.
A man who was arrested in connection with issues surrounding the management
and safety of the site has been bailed with further inquires still pending.
Mr Meachen left behind his fiancée, Helen Pamplin, and three children following
the tragic industrial injury and a funeral was held for him on 31st August at Holy
Trinity Church in West Runton.
