Family pay moving tribute to fatal vehicle accident victim

The heartbroken family of a man who died in a vehicle accident just seven months before his dream wedding have paid tribute to a loving, bright and adventurous individual.

31-year-old Andrew Herron suffered serious personal injuries when his moped was hit by a car in London on 15th April. Paramedics rushed to the scene and he was taken to hospital but died two days later in intensive care.

His inconsolable mother, Doreen, said, "If Andrew came in here, he'd light up the room. He'd have a great big smile on his face, and his eyes would be dancing. He always full of life and pleased to see us.

"He was a lovely, gentle man.

Mr Herron was a keen sportsman and had played for several local football teams. He was an avid Arsenal fan and, hearing of the fatal road accident, the team have sent his family a signed shirt. Manager Arsene Wenger is also expected to send a wreath to the funeral.

Andrew was to be married to fiancée Kate Greenlaw in a dream ceremony in South Africa in November. The couple had been an item for four years after meeting at a wedding, and had lived together for the past two.

Miss Greenlaw is understandably distraught, but told the media, "Andy made such an impression on every single person he met.

"He was such an amazing character. He was openly loving and he was so affectionate. We are lucky to have known him - and I am lucky that he chose me."

Immediately after the fatal road accident, police arrested a man on suspicion of dangerous driving. He was released pending further enquiries.
