Man suffers abduction following car accident
In an attempt to avoid the consequences of a car accident, three men decided to stage a kidnapping in Chicago, USA.
It seems that the prospect of dealing with an insurance company following the car crash led the men to take extreme action and they abducted the driver of the other car.
The court heard how the 47-year-old abductee was punched and suffered minor personal injuries. He was then ordered to phone his wife so that his captures could demand a ransom. Eventually, the man was released when he gave up $180.
Chicago Police caught up with two of the abductors, Sergio Sauceda, 19 and Arturo Ayala, 23, at around 12.50am the next day. The abductee spotted the assailants in a vehicle and his wife contacted the authorities.
The two men were charged with aggravated kidnapping but it has not been reported whether they face a penalty for the car accident.
