Car accident ends in High Court injury claim
A man who was left with serious personal injuries after a car accident has launched an accident claim for compensation at the High Court.
20-year-old Daniel Drew, of Desborough, Northamptonshire, suffered brain damage and lost the use of his right eye in the road accident in 2004. He was the passenger in a car that was involved in a road smash on the A6003, and the driver was later convicted of careless driving.
At the wheel was his friend, Daniel Roberts, who, along with another passenger, Tim Robinson, escaped from the car accident without serious injury.
In contrast, Mr Drew spent five months in hospital and in addition to his brain damage, was treated for multiple fractures to his head and face, a broken neck, a broken back and five broken ribs.
It is thought that the youngster's personal injury claim is demanding compensation of over £300,000 from Daniel Roberts.
